Make your own Bee Bombs!

This school holidays instead of the old typical Easter egg hunt, why not replace the Easter eggs with an environmentally aware, nature driven bee seed bomb making activity instead? Or maybe have both!

Once the egg and seed bomb has been found, chocolate consumption, and seed bomb garden launch are GO!

This is a great activity to get the kids outside and in nature this school holidays.

Ingredients:

  • Flowers seeds – alyssum, snapdragons, calendulas, nasturtiums, lobelia, Queens Anne’s lace, poppies, violas, cornflowers, linaria
  • 5 cups Rocky Point Garden Soil
  • Water
  • Powdered clay (you can get this from craft shops)
  • Mixing bowl

How to:

  1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of seeds with 5 cups of compost and 2-3 cups of powdered clay or clay soil.
  2. Slowly mix the water in until everything sticks together
  3. Roll the mixture into firm balls.
  4. Leave the balls to dry on a tray in a sunny location.
  5. Plant – Throw your seed bombs in a bare earth location in the garden. Water and wait to see which variety sprouts first!
